    Overclock: X86 Pentium M 725 Dothan processor

Is anyone familiar doing this? I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with the 1.6 GHz Intel Pentium M 730 (Sonoma), 533MHz FSB and PCIe x16 chipset. I'm planning to swap it out with the 725@400 FSB and use the "pin" mod to overclock it from 1.6 to 2.13 GHz. Problem is I'm not too confident working with laptops. Can anyone run it through with me? Or better yet help me set it up?

i thought dell locked out oc abilities on all their computers?

do you have a factory warranty left? because if you do id wait till thats done with till u open up your lappy

EDIT: the pin mod can be dangerous as you can seriously screw your stuff up.

No, Dell's are still all capable of ocing. My warranty was over years ago so I'm ready to dissect this thing. hehe Yeah, I'm going to be really careful and take my time at each step.

I'm going to use Arctic Silver 5 thermal paint to reduce the temperature. It only runs a scant 2 degrees C higher than the 45 degrees of the stock processor.
