    Removing the rotor

Hey, I have a 2005 Corolla. I want to take the front rotors off but they are held on by a nut or something that I can't seem to take off. I am used to taking off the rotors off of my F-150 so I don't know how to tackle these. What's the easiest way to take them off? Thanks for your help! The pictures show what I'm talking about

You need to push a screw driver under the nut along the little trench running down the bolt. Then you pry up a little bit to get the nut to release (its kind of like a knock off cotter pin). Then you put on your socket and start turning :) If it doesn't come off after this then it must be rusted on there or something.

Don't touch the nuts - you had to take the nuts off to get the rotor off. I'm pretty sure that once you have the torque plate off (bracket that holds the caliper) - the disc should be free. Looks like a case of corrosion freezing the rotor to the hub. Might want to give it a couple of whacks with a rubber mallet and hit the area between the rotor hat and the hub (the heavily rusted portion) with some good penetrating solvent (PB Blaster is what I use all the time).

right, do what he said, i just read the title and saw the pictures. but once you take off the brake caliper, the rotor "should" just slide off. however sometimes rust bonds it on. A good whack with a rubber mallet should loosen it up.

Spray some Liquid Wrench behind and around the rotor and shake it free. It should slide right off afterwards. Remember to put the retaining pin back on the nut cover.
