    The JDM Money Pot

(In the latest Modified Mag)So you paid how much for your authentic Bride seats?? And how much for your Blitz bov?? Over-priced everywhere in the United States but a cozy market in Japan. Of course you'd expect them to have the best things for their own JDM cars. But I was blown away by some of the prices I saw at places like Autobacs Secondhand Market and Up Garage. How much are JDM parts in Japan? Like $100 for a Blitz bov. Nardi wheels from $25-100 each. Bride seats for $500. Tein's for $400. Apex'i World Sport exhaust systems for under $150....and much more. They say its because of simple supply and demand....and the demand in Japan is very strong while supply is in overabundance.

They had a set of 17" BBS wheels with new tires for $350. Damn I wish I could bring back a truckload of stuff. :wtc:

Yes, they listed that they had a plethora of JDM Tight Yo! wheels for a steal from Work wheels, Advans, and even super rare wheels like Nismo LMGT2's...Even though its a Rays wheel, I didn't even know the public could buy LMGT2's..

I might believe that for some things (racings seats), but I refuse to believe that it applies for everything. For example, full World Sport exhaust for my car cost $500....compared to $150. Blah, maybe I need to get a Neon so I can get cheap APC parts, lol...

It's the same way here for domestic performance parts.. let's all start modifying domestic cars. I can get some holly carbs for a mustang cheap!

and you guys are comparing used parts to new pars. If you buy the exhaust system new in japan, it'll be very much in line with the MSRP we have here.

north america sux is all i can say... we don't get unique cars from japan or europe, it cost us sh!t loads of money compared to asia to mod cars... plus not much support for other cars other than honda...

Yea, they are used parts. But the things they found were in mint condition. I wouldnt mind having an Autobacs Secondhand Market mixed in with the normal Autobacs in the states...

Japan always gets the nicest stuff... we always have to pay out of our noses for the simplest parts
