I'm guessing that since he's had so much work done to the car he must have had an alarm on it. Do you know exactly how it got stolen?

sucks, but not surprising for a Civic. it's been reported to the police, right?

pretty much...it would take mere seconds to drag that thing on a flatbed and haul it off (which isn't all that far-fetched, depending on when it was stolen).

at this point, however, the car is probably half stripped. if it's found, it'll be a shell.

very true. My boy had a hooked up civic, complete with everything. He added an alarm to it and guess what. It was stolen from in front of his house and the only reason he realized what was going on was because his brother was walking down the steps and saw someone getting into the car, but by the time he got outside the guy was taking off down the street. They tried to follow him but he got away.

Sorry to hear, the car is prob gone by now. This is why I will not have a modded car until I get a house and have a garage, alarm and the brake lock with a alarm on the house.

hey guys .. yeah its pretty bad. we're all assuming its already in pieces but we'd sure as hell like to catch who it was. there was no alarm though =/ which i know probably made it easier. im assuming it was somebody who knew what was in that car cuz there was 2 cars right next to em that could have been stolen as well, my boyfriends GSR and a nice ass MR2 right next to it on the other side.. and plus the other 100s of cars that were at the track!! people are assholes. it'll come back to them.. i strongly believe that.

When The Prostar event and the NMCA event come to our track, there's usually at least one bike and one car stolen right out of the pit area. It's amazing how bold some folks can be. Our test and tune nights got so bad for the bikes that the track lets them park in the pits against the fence near when the medics park the ambulance. Hopefully someone will run their mouth about you guys' car. Usually the type that'll take someone's stuff is also the type to flap their gums about it.

Thats only if insurance covers what was modified. Lets say they do cover it, its just a matter of knowing that you put alot of effort into a car and now its all gone.

that's why you pay extra for the insurance, list everything in the car for your insurance company, and keep receipts of everything.

Thats if he did that. But with a car like that, I would only hope that he did.

A girl who used to live next door to me had her civic stolen from in front of our building. She had over 5k in parts in it and no alarm. Since she never reported anything to the insurance company, they only paid for the car and not the stuff in it. And since her civic was older, it wasn't worth much so she lost out on some money. About 2 months later, they found the civic in Maryland. It was completely stripped down

When my old corolla was stolen, I didn't know I had to report the modifications to the insurance company. But the guy who came to look at the car was nice enough to have everything that was bolted in, paid for (for what was stolen). But thats only if I could provide the receipts..which i did. The only thing they didn't cover was the CD's I had in the car. Thankfully 90% of the CD's were burned so i didn't lose too much money on that.

Karma is a bitch though. I know in my case it was cause they caught the 2 guys IN my corolla as they were taking out the radio. Both got locked up and were in jail for a while cause they both had warrants for their arrest in different towns.

Not to be a hardass but it's kind of your own fault if you put so much money into a car and don't put an alarm in it. If you have money to modify the car, put in an alarm. It should come first as a number one priority before any modifications are done. And if the car is worth enough to warrant more precautions, lojack should be considered. It costs 695.00 but it has a 90% recovery rate.

yeah i agree but i think people who want a car will get it no matter what . alarms havent stopped people in the past. plus we got there at 1030 .. got out at 530 .. we asked people some questions and according to what they said they saw the car was probably taken around 2 ... sooo they had more than enough time to get out of there quick

alarms don't matter when it's a pro. they could drag the car onto a flatbed and be off, and in all likelihood no one would stop them.

Even with a lojack? I highly doubt it. It would be pinpointed and found within a few hours with the thieves. You'll be able to steal it and run but you can't hide.

LoJack only works once the police is notified. I had LoJack in my Corolla that was stolen. Thats how it was found in 5 hours and with the guys in it.

But if the owners don't realize its stolen, that gives the pro's a good amount of time to strip it and get rid of the lojack if they find it. I knew a guy back in the day who stole hondas when he was a bit younger. he said he never worried about alarms or lojacks. why? cause they work in groups. They get the car, strip it and dump the shell. by the time they dump the shell, they're long gone. The funny thing is that alot of the people who worked with him in stealing cars are now cops in different areas of NJ. Only 2 or 3 were ever caught and locked up.

But for an inexpierenced theif, I'm sure they'd get caught or at least they can find the car.

    it's more of a service right? ^
i want to put an alarm + remote starter on my car but doesn't it make you have to change your battery a lot faster?
also when i park my car on campus and some bitch who doesn't know how to open their car door will dent my car and its not like i can hear the alarm from all the way where my classroom is. that alarm is gonna keep sounding off and wouldn't that drain my battery very quickly?

    Yes
    no
    and no :)

If you cant hear your alarm, get one that has a keychain fob that alerts you when the alarm is sounding. Or one that sends you a text message on your phone.

My 2000 Accord EX-V6 was stolen twice and both times it took the authorities a full two days to find the thing and thats because it has a GPS locator on it from the factory (similar to GM's Onstar). The alarm system it had was a 750 dollar AVITAL Security Alarm System. other previous cars we have had in the past still get stolen even with the best alarms. oddly enough the last two cars i have had did not have alarms sytems and they have yet to be touched (knock on wood) The insurance agency will only cover according to certian conditions regardless of what my have been stated its basically up to them.

sorry to hear about your car been stolen. well if its a pro, its just easy to bypass the alarm... lets just hope alarm makers can upgrade their product... something like automatically cutting off the ignition wiring when not properly started by the owner.

You mean starter kill? Its an old idea. I have it in my alarm system. I've activated it myself to test it but I'm sure there are ways around it.

all you have to do is bypass the relay at the ignition harness. Anyone who ever install an alarm know how to disable it.

do people still rock clear corners in 2007?
