How much tire pressure for 205/40/17 and 205/45/17??

How much tire pressure for 205/40/17 and 205/45/17??

Hello~

I'm wondering that how mcuh tire pressure should inflate for 205/40/17 and 205/45/17?

i only know that the stock tire is 32 psi, but i can't really sure about the new tire~~

It usually says on the tire what pressure to run them at.

The pressure you see on the side of the tire is the max you can put in. Not a good idea to run that high at all

I used to keep my 205/45/16 at 36PSI

Read what is stamped on the side of the tire - that is the maximum pressure for "cold" inflation. The placard in the glovebox is the minimum I would run and only applies to OEM sized tires. Don't worry - the tire won't blow up if you run more than that. For some courses - I run tire pressures as high as 50-55PSI or bit more than 10PSI over the limit.

The proper way to determine tire inflation is to measure the tire tread temperature after driving it around normally. At the proper pressure - tire temps will be the same across the tread. If they are hotter in the center - then pressure is too high, hotter on the edges - tire pressure is too low.

If you don't have something to measure temperature accurately - then just experiement with the pressure. Using the Toyota spec'd pressure as the minimum and the stamped tire pressure as max.

I run 42-44PSI all around in my Kuhmos (205/45R16) - 45K miles and they still have some tread left.

my 15's runs 30 psi w/ 195/55R15 tires... i think u should go to kal tire, fountain tire and ask them since they are professional...

just tips for ppl... its best to fill ur tires w/ nitrogen instead of just air bcuz nitrogen won't expand or contract under high or low elevation and temperature changes cuz all aircraft tire is filled w/ nitrogen... and i think all costco tire shop hav it...

They also us N2 in aircraft tires because it stays moisture-free.
