getting viper alarm installed

    getting viper alarm installed

    i'm having the Viper 350 HV alarm installed in my car today. Anyone have any good or bad reviews on this product?

    only one i've used is python and clifford rsx series alarms - both are good.
    (i realize this doesnt answer your question, however this is fyi for others)

    but both python and clifford are DEI alarms...so it is somewhat relevant...heh.


    Viper alarms are decent for the money...though i'd go with the 791XV, meself. you can find this unit on Amazon.com for $200ish shipped(more depending on your location...it was 207 for me)

    Viper alarms are decent. So just pick one that fits your needs.

    I tried that myself with a friend's car and failed miserably. I suggest having a pro do it. Unless you know your way around cars.

    id say depends on the features, if its sumthin basic and you know your way go for it, but if its a top of the line alarm with all features, a pro should handle it

    i'd say let a pro do it regardless...simply because there's too much you could screw up. i have a friend who is pretty knowlegeable about wiring, but managed to screw up the wiring on his alarm so much that he CANNOT drive the car until the alarm is pulled from it...the kill switch is engaged, and that prevents him from moving it.

    I've installed all my alarms myself, and Vipers are good, but so are prestige which are 1/2 as less, and do the same thing. For the beater I recently bought a $40 alarm on ebay that has worked great and it even came with a backup battery in case they cut the main battery.

    If you are not comfortable with wiring, then don't attempt it yoursef. The alarm itself is only 1/3 of the system, the other 2/3 is that installation and urability of the controls.
