The stench over NYC/NJ...

For those who didn't hear about it, here is the story:

So its pretty much pointing fingers at each other about the smell. But here is something that a outspoken talk show host from NJ said

Mercaptan is the artifical smell injected into natural gas which allows people to smell an otherwise odorless natural gas leak.

News coverage helps tell potential terrorists exactly where the smell traveled.

In my opinion, this was a dry run for a terrorist attack. I believe this because the smell was first reported in midtown Manhattan and later, in southern Manhattan, on a day where the winds are blowing briskly from the SOUTH.

This tells me that the smell was first released along the southern boundary of midtown (perhaps 34th street) BEFORE it was released from the southern edge of Manhattan (perhaps near Water Street) to permeate southern Manhattan. Such a pattern of release CANNOT be natural because todays rainy, windy weather in NYC has the winds blowing from south to north. I think this was deliberate, to see how fast and how far a gas would spread in NYC.

Hitting midtown Manhattan would strike at the very heart of corporate headquarters for most American businesses and cause instant traffic clogging of the escape routes of the Lincoln Tunnel (West 41 st), the Queens Midtown Tunnel (East 34th Street) and the Queensboro Bridge (East 59th st). As people in Midtown flee, they will head south toward the tunnels and bridges at the tip of southern Manhattan just to drive into a second wave of terror gas attack in the south!

Hitting the southern tip of Manhattan would strke at the heart of the Financial Center of America, and would instantly traffic clog the escape routes of the Holland Tunnel, The Brooklyn Battry Tunnel, The Brooklyn Bridge and Willaimsburg Bridge. These traffic clogs would prevent two thirds of the people in Manhattan from escaping, thereby increasing the human toll in an actual attack.

There is no other plausible explanation other than this was a dry run for a terrorist gas attack against civilians in NYC. Authorities are saying they have no explanation because they simply don't want to admit this was a dry run for a terror attack.

If I am correct in my assessment, the real thing will come very soon after this dry run.

This guy has been known to twist things up with a lot of things. but do you think he may have a point? or is he overreacting?

I saw this on the news the other morning when it happened. Everyone wants to be the first to say "I told you so". This guy wants to draw attention to himself, in my opinion.

Id like to see anyone from NYC or neighboring New Jersey move to Tulsa and freak out when they smell the refineries, oil storage tanks, natural gas tanks, sewage plants, and farming activity that becomes a part of daily life around here...when you live on a flat plateau with winds constantly changing direction, there's bound to be odors around at any given time.
