those will be super thin tires.. really have to be careful not to bend a rim.

+40 offset isn't enough from other threads I've read. ya need +45 with that big of wheel

i think these wheels are a little too plain...if they came stock w/ the car i can understand but not as an aftermarket purchase

you could use a 40 but there is a slight chance it may rub but even then i doubt it. I had the 18's with a 215/35 and it barely missed the lip and thats because i had to bend it in. but with 17's there should be no problem. it hit in the rear on mine but the front was fine. but now that the inner part of the fenders of the rear fenders are bent in i can now add 19's but with a 205/35 size tire.so that is even smaller.

my car has only about 1 inch of travel in the front and the back has about 1.5 to 1.75 of travel in the rear. so yeah my car is dropped to the bottom but the rims i had picked it up substantially. with the stocks on the car was about 3 inches or less from hitting the ground. with the 18's it was about 4.5 inches high. But oddly enough i don't really feel the bumps as hard as i expected and it handles the road extremely well.

205 is the ratio of the side wall and its pretty small you can possibly bend the rim. if you get a wider tire like a 40 or 45 it sould do ok but if you go lower than a 40 such as a 30 or 35 you run the risk of hiting and breaking the rim.

    17 x 7 with w/a 215 40/17 size tire is perfect.

    mine were 18x 7.5 with a 215 35/18.

one more thing make sure they are 4/100 setup.

i agree with 01rollas. go with 215's but beware of the +40 offset. My 01 had a +42 offset and it rubbed like crazy when on bumps or with rear passengers (I had no drop on the car). Remember: the lower the offset the wider the rim from fender...
I had 17x7 on 215/40/17 tires on the 01....my 93 has the same setup but with a shaved rear fender with a 1.5" drop....no rubbing anymore...

205/40 is perfect for 17"s for a corolla. If your planning on dropping it later your gonna have more chances of rubbing a bit on 215's.
Here's an old pic of my car with 205/40/17

I agree somewhat also, but sometimes rims that compliment the a car the most are the simple ones. Hey Phozenstone is selling his volk's those are a good deal also, but buy the ones you like the most.

your tires are wider than mine. I had a 45 offset with a 7.5 rim width. if you look closely at the photo you will see just how thin the 215 is, but then again you are going with a 17 inch rim.

I had to expand my rear fenders to accomidate the extra width and since my lower crossmembers are also extended it was harder for me to get the rims on there.

but i dont want to have any issues regarding rubbing on the long run... i might drop my car in the future so is the 205's ok? it doesent look too bad on fastrolla"s car...

oh and phosenstone's rims are 10000... way to expensive for me...

oh and i need a yes or no coz the tires i have right now are losing air major style... so ima need to get these new ones asap... buy or no buy?

Ya go for them, I think they'll look good. Oh 01rollas, your rims were 17 by 7.5 so the 215 tires accomodated the extra .5 inch of the wheel cause 215 is bigger and wider then 205. I just had 17 by 7 with 40+ offset and had no problem rubbing until I dropped it. Atleast we're not talking about 215 tires on 18" rims cause thats more of a problem cause I had alot of fender rolling and tucking to get it work.

He means to watch out for potholes and stuff so you don't bend the rims. I've hit potholes and stuff with my 18"s and I'm fine. Just make sure you have good amounts of air in the tire and you'll be ok. Just try avoid potholes just in case.

No, they were Motegi DP6 in Gunmetal w/Machined Lip 18x7.5 wrapped in 215/35ZR18 Falken Ziex's, Trust me i know what my car had and what i had to do to install them.
They were also a 45 offset, I just got off the phone with rent a tire and my friend who bought them so believe me if you want but i know the hell i went through to get them on there.

Be sure to miss potholes and be careful about construction. I was stupid then i learned my lesson and wound up having to buy another rim.
