    Water in my trunk

Why is there water in the spare tire area? The rest of the trunk seems to be dry. What area should i look for to seal?

    Thanks

There should be a rubber thingy, all you have to do is pull it out.

There are two different rubber plugs that you might want to remove, make sure they are whole intact, and not broken. I know this because I used those wholes to put my wires through.

There should be a rubber drain plug that you can take out to drain.

Could be the seals around tail lights or back glass.

Fold down the seats put someone in the trunk with a flashlight and take it to the car wash and spray rear area to check for leaks.

My car collected water back there too.

After an accident repair from last year the shop forgot to add seal where the qaurter panel attaches to the trunk ridge. I added some rubber seal-maker and it did the trick.

    Sometimes the tail-light seals leak.

The plugs are there so you can remove them for draining. Do you have a sunroof?

    Thanks for the help!

I drained the trunk..I think its the tails. I got those clear corner ones and they dont fit 100%. I had them for over a year but now i park in an open area and its been raining alot.

I had a bad problem with this with my last corolla. The best product for sealing tail light leaks is silicon. Also, seal the top seam more so than the bottom or sides. Gravity is working hardest against you there. Most shops do a poor job of sealing the trunk areas after accidents because it's so hard to see where the leak actually is. My girlfriend's trunk is a swamp as a result of 2 rear end collisions.
