    Static Shock

Anyone has a problem with static shock when getting out of their car? I have my 'rolla for a few months and this is an almost daily occurrence. It has become very annoying. Any ideas on how to solve this?

    Thanks

Spray static guard on the seats or rub unscented fabric softner sheets on the velour.

ground yourself by touching a metal part of the car as you slide out of your seat and get out of the car.

Sure, I've made a habit of grabbing the top of the door frame when I get out of the car (as a ground), but spraying some Static Guard on the seats pretty much has eliminated any static.

Well static is PE (public-enemy) #1 for PC's... your brain is like a PC... ever heard of electro-shock therapy? Maybe I'm onto something?

I thought that I was alone in my everyday suffering, but its good to know that in some other place probably at the same time some one is getting electrocuted just like me. :D

Seriouly is really annoying, I was thinking about wearing gloves but here in Miami is kind of hot already so I just touch the glass or use my elbow like others said. But I think that I'll go with Bimmernut's advice and spray some static guard on the seats.

you could get one of those static strips for the car: it is a small piece of flat rectangular material (i think it is rubber) and it hangs from the back of your car and touches the ground. i am not sure if they work.

the thing would have to be made of pretty much anything but rubber...it should be made of a highly conductive material (such as carbon), and this will ground the car.

Talk about a car feature you never expect. I haven't even had mine for a month and am not used to being a live conductor everytime I try to close my door when I get out. Static guard it is.

I read somewhere that the type of tires can cause a build up of static in the car. Not sure if there is any validity to that. But as mentioned previously, when you open the door, grab the metal part of the door or door frame and remain in contact with it before you step out of the car. Keep contact with the metal, then step out onto the ground. This will ground you and you will not get shocked.
