    Replacing Brake Pads

Anyone know of a good link on the internet that has a decent do it yourself guide with pics on how to change brake pads yourself? I've got a Corolla XRS '05 with around 16,000km. They started making noise every now and then when braking, and I figure sometime in the next few months (around Mar) I may need to replace them or figure out a way to clean/buff any dirt that has built up off them. Possibly it could be the cold weather too? It dropped to -25 C today here in Edmonton, but for the past few weeks its been around -15. I'm not THAT technically inclined towards mechanics, but I've done my hydraulic brakes on my mountain bike lots and in theory I don't think it can't be too different. I searched on this site and 9th Gen, but couldn't find anything.

    Thanks in Advance.

Thats way too early for a Toyota.I have my original brakes pads on my 99 with 75,000 km(hyway driving).Your front pads should last 50,000 Km or more depending on your driving habits. The noise you are hearing is probably a light coat of rust on the discs surface that will go away as soon as you drive it.Some pads are noisier than other, especially metallic pads. You can buy the Haynes or Chilton's shop manual with step by step instructions and pictures or take it to your Toyota dealer.

Thanks. I had a hunch it may be something on my rotor that was wearing off because they only seem to make noise within the first 15 minutes of driving when it happens, and that is only occasionally.
