painting bodykit?

    painting bodykit?

    okay guys i have a question...I have the toms replica body kit i was wondering what is the best way to paint it? What equiptment should i buy? I was planning on buying a air compressor and the air tools for painting my kit. But how do you get the paint to shine. Get the reflection? ANy suggestions or tips would be greatful.

    I thought about this myself (since I have an air compressor and paint sprayer already), but I think to do a clean job of it you have to have a clean room so you don't get dust in the paint as it dries, plus baking it helps make it adhere better (otherwise it's more likely to chip). It might turn out ok (at least if you JUST paint the kit and not while it's mounted), but I'd be careful. Probably be worth it to at the least take it to Maaco for $250, they'd probably do a better job than you ever could.

    I don't think that Maaco will do it for $250. I took mine there and they said $500. They said that it costs more for clearcoat? Anyway, to get the paint to shine, you are going to have to use a clear coat of some kind.
