do i need struts??

    do i need struts??

    hey guys...i just dropped off my car at the local shop to have my tein h tech springs installed and they said that i really should get new struts for my car cause the stock struts are no good...my question is...is this guys BSing me or do i really need to get struts after i drop my car?? and do i also need a wheel alignment? cause i didnt get either...i just told him to install my springs.

    PS what should i get shocks or struts or are they the same? and where would i get one?

    You definitely need an alignment no matter what. As for the struts, the OEM ones will work fine, and will eventually need to be replaced depending on the road conditions where you drive and what not.

    you do eventually need to change your struts but OEM ones will be good for about a year or so, again depending on the road conditions you drive in and how often you drive your car.

    the struts are pressurized to a certain degree with stock springs. if you drop your car, some of the pressure in the shocks will gradually be released causing you to pretty much ride on springs. When you notice that your car is loosing its stiffness and your car feels a bit bouncy(like your riding on water), then its definitely time to change the shocks cuz they have bottomed out and the only thing suspending your chassis from the wheels are the springs.
