Custom HID kit?

Custom HID kit?

For those that have experience with HIDs or put together their own I think DistantXtremes, just wondering if there is diy out there to put together a custom HID kit and install it into our cars? I might be able to get my hands on ballasts off a BMW or Infinity. Can I use these? If so what else would I need and how well would they work? If there is anything out their that can help me out that would be great. Thanks!

If they are Philips/Hella Gen3 ballasts you can do what is shown here: http://www.globalpremier.com/connectingjacksinstruction.html Thats what I did and i got HID for $250

Ok, here is the picture of the ballast, ignitor, and bulb, its from an Infiniti QX4:

Is there I can hook it up (without installing it) so that I can see everything is working in good condition?
