Pretty hard to believe that tires and wheels can roll UP and accelerate up an inclined plane - but that my just be the perspective offered by the video. Still pretty cool Rube Goldberg machine.

Just because computer editing or special computer generated effects were not used, does not mean that the "magic" of tv was not used. Yes all parts are real, but the way they put it together has to be doctored.

I saw this a while back and I think it is a great entertaining commercial!

Read the snopes link I posted....they used counterweights within the wheels

Ive read a few articles about this commercial....everything you see happens in real time, no editing, no cutting, no special effects, etc.

Someone started the cog rolling, and recorded the rest.

    I don't beleive it ;)

I watched it a couple times, I would bet money that it is CGI, there is no way we're ever going to really know though ;)

Okay, the speakers are totally CGI, and what is holding the dashboard up? Don't get me wrong its a badass comercial but I beleive CGI was included in the editing process.

Why were the speakers CGI? Looks like their vibrations caused stuff to fall off of the hood.

I wouldn't be surprised if the commercial was CGI, but it's way cooler if it isn't.

I'm seeing it on snopes, but it is still hard to believe. I mean its all plausible, but how in the hell did they get the tires to roll UPHILL??

Notice they seem to slow down then pick up by themselves...impossible.

    snopes has been taken over.

Oh...counterwieghts....yeah...ok, it could be real. :)

I don't care what snopes says :) Only the person that actually shot the firm can tell ya the truth and he is probably bound by contract not to say anything other then its all real. Its a CONSPIRACY!

No matter what anybody says they still had to join it together. It was not a whole take, it was not nature, it was setup, and it is great.

"Although no special effects were employed, the 606th take wasn't so absolutely perfect that the entire commercial was derived from that one take:
The Honda ad was created without special effects. It was split into two continuous takes only because no studio was big enough to accommodate the entire sequence. The only post-production trickery is the lighting on the car doors at the end.3

The sequence of events in the advert is actually split into two shots — shooting the whole thing in one go would have been too expensive. "It was a damage limitation idea to snip it into two [parts]," says Rob Steiner, head of television at Wieden & Kennedy, the agency responsible for the advert. (Still not found the join? The first section ends and the second one begins at the one minute mark when an exhaust box rolls off to the right of the screen. Some clever editing bridges the two parts.)4"

You make it seem like this happened all perfectly in on take and by nature, and even though there was no real post production or CGi they still had to assemble it, and the whole ad is not just one take.

Is not like filming nature and something incredible happens where no preparation was done, that is what I mean by the "magic" of TV, and I did read the whole article thank you very much.

I wasnt referrring to YOU not reading the entire article. For those saying that they used CGI, well, theyre wrong.
Everything that happened in the sequence happened naturally....nothing was "enhanced". I didnt mean that it was happened all in one take...I meant that everything happened naturally. Yes, they had to assemble it, but in only TWO sequences.
