    Tire Sizes

How do I find what rims/tires my 96 Corolla supports? I am thinking of adding low profile tires + 16 inch rims but I have no idea what to get (I know very little about these things).
What are the appropriate tire sizes (15s and 16s) and appropriate rim sizes? Where can I find out?

Please excuse me if this is a stupid question, cause I honestly don't know.

Just go to www.wheelfire.com they will give you the appropriate sized tires once you enter the rim size you want.

I don't know if they are reliable though. I didn't buy from them, just used them for research. Hankook k106s actually have the same tread pattern as F1 intermediates. Did you know that? Well, close enough for a street used tire.

you can also go to tirerack.com which recommends a 45 series which is what i would stay with because it keeps your overall diameter correct which keeps your speedometer correct. as far as width (the first number in a tire size) 205 is recommended but you can go as wide as you can fit. I can tell you that on my lowered 94, 215's didn't fit but depending on your offset and your ride height, you might be able to fit wider. I would go with as wide as you can.

With a wider wheel, you can keep the same tire size and just stretch them for a cleaner look. Or you can get a wider tire, but keep in mind, it gets pricey.

205/45/16's are great. You won't regret it if you're going to run 16's.

you will regret 40 or 45 profile if you live in a bumpy place.

I wouldn't do that. You have to keep the overall diameter the same or it will throw off your speedometer. So if a 45 series is the recommended, a 50 is too big. You can probably go wider (215/45/16) but not taller.

agree with all the above, 45 series tires would be ideal for 16" wheels

How about 17s? I am trying to buy some used tires + rims, and so far I found some nice 17 inch rims.
