I don't think so. Even if it were so, I've bottomed out and hit so many potholes without incident.

ahhh the sensors are infront of the bumper, so bottoming out u must be hitting that bump stop extremely hard to activate anything

I've removed and reinstalled the front bumper over 2 dozen times so I know the sensor isn't there. It's most likely in the crash bar.

Lowered 05 S and never had an issue. It's bottomed out a few times, but that shouldn't cause the airbags to deploy, they should have sensor in the front, not bottom.

I actually had this happen. I was driving on a ridiculously rough offramp in Newark and I hit a huge pothole - Immediately after I hit the pothole the SRS light came on. My struts were nearly blown at the time so I'm guessing that was why the impact was so bad.

The SRS light blinks now like it's indicating some code, but I haven't had it checked out yet. Does this mean my airbags are deactivated?
