retractable antenna

i have absolutely no idea

like i said i'm curious of whats available and what other people may have done.. I love listening to NPR so i like the radio

retractable antenna

Has anyone attempted a retractable antenna mod on a corolla? Specifically 2002 models and before. Thinking about doing one to one of the corollas at the house because 1) the current antenna is all bent up, 2) reception has gotten worse, and 3) dont listen to the radio as much and the car always looks cooler without the antenna dangling out.

Now I'm debating over a retractable antenna which would either be in the same location as the current one or relocating to the back by the trunk. Or I may just relocate it to where the 03+ corollas have it which is on the roof and put like a shorty antenna or bmw style fin antenna.

Anyone have any opinions or advice?

How would you mount the retractable antenna on the outside pillar? It comes out at an angle. I just keep mine all the way down at all times since I don't listen to the radio anymore after I got my iPod dock with my head unit.

We could do that but then we would have to run the antenna wiring all the way across the roof to the back and bondo/primer/paint over the hole where the stock one was.

from what i know lots of hong kong rollas hav those power retractable antenna and they install it by the trunk...

check out sigma automotive. they sell some really nice sharkfin-esk antenna's that you can put above your rear window that look really good. you might want to try doing that if you like the look

Honestly speaking I also don't have that much of knowledge regarding such antenna. I was looking for the resource related to antenna and reached here. After reading this thread I have come to know more facts related to it. If I got good resource on it then definitely share it here.
