I've got 6x9 pioneers speakers on my rear deck and I love them (paid $40 on ebay).

In the front doors I've got Infinity component, love them too! :D

If the choice is between Infinity and Pioneer, then I would definitely recommand Infinity.
None of the Pioneer speakers in the audio shops impressed me.
It depends on what you are looking for though...

Well what is your base? What i mean is what head unit are you using and are you going to power them with it or an amp? You want to get speakers that are in your power range, that way they will sound the best.

I have done a lot of install for people, and they always seem to show up at my door with pioneers. I'm guessing that pioneers are so popular because they are fairly inexpensive and look pretty sheek, but as far as performance they aren't the greatest. Firstly i find that they all seem to play the highs way too high (they tend to peirce the ears a little). I would recomend them to people if they want to change up the rears (because of the points mentioned above), but not as their main speakers (fronts).

At the moment, i'm partial to my CDT 6 1/2's CL-6X coaxails. 8)

If you go to a good audio shop, check out their CDT speakers you wont be disapointed.

I agree with that!! Friends that sat on the rear seats told me that after an hour ride  I can't really notice that because, usually I'm in the driver seat :D If I have the choice between Pioneer and Infinity speaker in the futre, I'll choose Infinity. Otherwise, I also like the sounds that Boston Accoustics speakers made. Nice bassy sound! For real bass, there's no secret, a good sub with an amp in the truck!

Yeah nothing wrong with Boston Acoustic either. I would recomend them as a good fill speaker, they seem to play the mids nicely (nice full rounded sounds).

You should also stay away from Audiobahn, they are like the Bose of the car audio. They are pretty decent speakers/woofers, but they are extreamly over priced. You could find much better speakers at a fraction of the cost. They developed a little slogan for themselves:

    "Audiobahn, all show no go"

Sorry walt77, not trying to be a know it all....

Like i said above, audiobahn is a quality brand, and you should be happy with their performance. Anyways, they got that slogan from their Subwoofers, because they are a little overpriced.

    No hard feelings man

No problem.. did think that you "know it all" ;) never...

I agree 100% with everything you said in this post!

Sometimes, my english is a bit too direct, I'm a french speaking person, so I made tons of mistakes and I don't use the right ones also...

Good day in TO  :D :D :D

LOL...i didn't even notice that your from Montreal!

Hey both of my parents are from their. My mom still has her strong accent, and speaks a lot of broken english. Her french is her mother tongue.

We go down their almost every summer to visit family.

We've got relatives in St.Basile (spelling?), Pierre Font and some other places that can't think of this moment.

Every time we go there we get a great big old smoke meat from "Moes" or "Mouches". Or grab a burger Downtown at "Mr.Steers".

anyways...this is way off topic...but it was nice to reflect a little.

Audiobahn is the sister company of the Ricer brand Ichibahn. That alone should tell you what kind of audio products they sell. Same with Mobile Authority, MA Audio, and the rest of the Anaba Corp.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Pioneer. They work. Period. Nothing exceptional though. Also a lot of people think that Infinity is somewhat 'high end'... lol they are far from it. Decent, yes. High end.. not even close ;)

Want high end? Try Adire Kodas, Lambda Acoustics, Peerless, Focal, CDT, and MB Quart.. get ready to spend around $1,000 for a set though :p

hey thnx for the replies all.

well this is what i was thinking, the stock speakers and HU sound like crap so this sat, im replacing the HU with my kenwood mpv619 (cd/mp3) standard 50watts per channel.

im definitly not getting a sub or amp, i want to keep it as simple as possible and fairly cheap.

so with the kenwood i was gonna get infinity reference components for the front
and pioneer 6X9s for the back. these pioneers are supposedly the higher end ones, the yellow ones not the blue and silver. they are 2 ways. people say these ones are amazing.

    The yellow Pioneer!
I've never heard one yet in real life, but my friend was saying they sound really good. He has similar taste as me and his favorites are Infinity and MB Quartz. So that yellow Pioneer must be really good. I'll probably go check them out next month. :D
