The way tirerack shipped my wheels were with some cardboard cut into circle with a slightly larger diameter than the wheel (between the wheel edge and outside diameter of the tire itself). They placed them on both sides of the wheel to protect the alloy and used plain packing tape to keep them together. They also had plastic banding straps - but tape should do it. Don't really have to protect the tire itself - just the the alloy. Then use FedEx or UPS ground to get it there. Less chance of the wheels getting banged up in shipping. Received three sets that way and shipped two sets out in the past two years and had zero problems.

yeh, when i sold my old wheels, wut i did was cut cardboard into a circle, i would put 2 peices on the wheels, one in front and one on back, then used cling wrap and wrapped everything together, and went over it with clear wrapping tape. It held up pretty good but expect to be spending like $10 on supplies.

fedex has good prices on domestic shipping, u can pack 2 wheels together but i think each wheel individually might be easier. When i shipped 4 wheels from NY to FL wit UPS, it costed $120 i believe, thats with tires included and insurance.
