    non vvti to vvti

Hey guys i have a question. I try to search the forums but didnt find much on it .. I have a 99 corolla which engine is going on her and i need to change it. If i get a 2004 corolla engine with vvti do i just need to change ecu or ecu and wire hardness.. Im getting a pretty good price on the 04 1zz so i was wondering what is everything i need.. Thanks in advance..

Transaxle included or do you plan on reusing your existing one, if so which one do you have?

There were a few changes between those generations, depends on what level of functionality you want. To get the engine to run and drive - you'll need the ECM and wiring harness. Could piece one together and re-pin the connectors - but by the time that is all said and done, you could have just bought the wiring harness outright and have less headaches in the end.

I can't think of any other MAYOR hurdle... since I haven't done it I can't confirm for you, but eventually I'll have to swap my engine :D

LOL ... well I just wanted to know the mayor differences cause me and my bro swap out hes engine in hes 08 no problem... We eventually put the flywheel backwards, but oh well you learn some how and learn from your mistakes.. If i would swap my non vvti for the same thing it wouldnt be a problem.. But now to the vvti version i know i need a few other things..

Even liked his page on Facebook. I inquired about the price of a wiring harness to do a 2zz swap. It was a while ago.
