    Integra Progress

Finally started getting my Integra ready...

Yesterday we put on the summer tires (on the 15" steelies, oh yah, lol), flushed the coolant and replaced the thermostat.

Wednesday i'm bringing it to Honda to get a wheel stud that we broke replaced (we don't have a hub puller) and get the inspection done (I think i'm failing the inspection, but at least i'll know what all I have to replace)...

Saturday and Sunday we are planning on replacing the timing belt, the valve cover gasket, spark plug seals (and plugs), and anything else they find during the inspection... along with an oil change, heh...

I'm waiting for a call from the guy that's suppose to weld in new metal where I have rust...

After the new metal is welded in, i'm doing the prep work myself for new paint and then getting a friend to re-spray it white (shaving the mouldings, and removing the rear wiper, painting any black trim white also) and installing my mugen-style front lip...

    Then getting my windows tinted...

Then, depending on the finances, i'm going to lower the car on Neuspeed springs and KYB GR-2 struts (this last part is going to depend on what they find when they do the inspection)...

    Yeah, its mostly maintenance...

Very tough cars from what i've seen, mine has 210 000kms (approx 130 000miles) and it still pulls hard, transmission still shifts smoothly, still handles great... the onyl things i've had to replace so far are things that wear out (brakes, exhaust) and now the things I listed above...

Only thing with them (like most other 80s to mid 90's Honda products), they like to rust (which is why i'm getting it fixed and re-painted)...

No turbo for this one (i'm still poor, heh)... depending on how things go in the next few years at this job, this might turn into my project/summer car and i'll have a newer daly driver... at that point i'll be putting in a low mileage engine and getting a turbo... but that's way off in the future and nowhere near a real plan :p

    Same thing... its expensive :p

Would you guys re-paint white or spray it in flat black (would actually be a satin finish)? :)

Heh, I love flat black... theres a bunch of white integra's around here... but not one flat black... i think with tinted windows, lowered in 16/17" bronze rims, it could look pretty decent... and it'll be more of a satin finish, not pure flat...

Flat black looks ugly as sin, but go for it to make it a sleeper. Turbo and flat black? You'll make that '89 Skyline dude in the parking lot think twice.
