    Insurance Legal Question

If I don't live at home anymore and borrow my mom's car for the weekend and get into an accident, will I be insured? I remember back when I was living at home they forced my name onto the insurance on three cars we owned when I only drove one. It costed over 5K a year for me to drive.

I moved out, my name is off it, but I'm just wondering if I borrowed her car and got into an accident, would it be covered?

it might be different w/ different insurance providers. but i know that my parent's policy covers people that don't live at their address, therefore, you would be covered being that you lived somewhere else

Do you have insurance for your own car? Check to see if you have a "drive other cars" extension on your policy, or if they have that on theirs.

Here in Manitoba, you're pretty much covered whatever you do.
I just cant understand how some insurnace companies in the states get away with what they do, but then again, our insurnace here is all through one publically owned company

i second this...check with YOUR insurance company, rather than asking one of us. call them.

you know, i can tell you from experience that there is a good chance you will be covered, even if you have an accident and it is your fault. My parents have liability and their insurance covered an accident i have. but as always, you should check with their insurance provider.

Generally speaking, any person who has a valid drivers license and has permission of the car's owner can expect to be fully insured...
