Got exciting news today

Before anyone says that I'm just "trippin", I'll just say that this is the best news I've received ever since being accepted into the photography program at school. Yea I'm a newbie..so what..lol.

I just got an email letting me know that I'm a finalist in the FotoWeek DC Competition for the Student-Personal Project Category.

Here is the picture I submitted. Its a self portrait. It was actually a deliverable for my Faces project for school.



I decided to take a chance and enter after a classmate sent me the link.

Thats not the first time someone has said that..lol.

everyone says that pic is scary. funny thing is that I'm far from being mean looking..well ok I may look mean but I'm cool as hell..lol.

So I went to opening night last night and it was weird cause everyone kept pointing at me and smiling. The manager of the spot told me he was just up by my photo with a few other employees and were talking about it.

One lady even went out of her way to get the owner of the shop that printed my photo and had him come over so he can be introduced to me. This guy is well known in the area for his printing skills and his shop is used by MANY. He told me he had a hard time printing my picture and he had his driver rush it over to the gallery in time for opening night. Great feeling though! I got pictures from the gallery that I need to upload. once i do, i'll post it up.
