Front clip change?

    Dose anyone know if the front clip off a 7th gen is a bolt on to a 8th gen rolla. I have seen a couple 7th gens with 8th gen front clips before. I have a friend that will do the trade. the thing is that i molded my side skirts to my finders and i dont want to have to brake the mold and do it again if i dont have to.

    I know in PR it's big to put the 8th gen front on a 7th gen wagon, so if the 8 fits onto the 7, I'm sure the 7 would want to fit on the 8, but why would you put an older front end on a newer car?

    I'm 98% sure it owuld work no problem... as I had stated, the 8th gen goes onto the 7th gen easy... so the reverse should theoretically be the same. I'm still confused why you want to but a 93-97 front end on an 8th gen.

    That's weird to want the 7th gen front...
    keep the 8th gen pride and get a nice paint job!
    I'm surprised I haven't seen you driving around vegas yet. Lowered 8th gens are so rare here I've only seen 1.

    The edges of the fenders and doors are the same, you switch everything from the A-pillar forward.

    He said he didn't want to swap the fenders because he'd have to remold the side skirts. Therefore, in this case, it is not bolt on. Otherwise, yes it would be a direct swap (pretty much).

    Yeah I saw his were molded on there... too bad because that front end would look cool. I guess he could just duplicate Scotts car :)

    I am welling to redo the finders again. If i do it i will have to do, finders, hood, bumber and all lights. The down angel or the hood is not the same and the bottom side angel is derffent. I work at Lexus in parts and i can look up toyota parts. The part number for a hood on a 7th gen is 53301-02040 and on a 8th gen is 53301-02050. the production of a 8th gen corolla starts 8 of 1997. That is when the first 8th gens came out. the radiator support is derf to. Thats my problem. 7th gen there are only one type of radiator support, but on a 8th because of the mid gen front end change there are two types of radiator supports. Two numbers. My 7th gen has a high and low bulb. Just like the late 8th gens. I think i well have the room for the bulbs and that my main casern. all the rest i can do the body work.

    It will be a very easy swap because you will have both cars there, rather than trying to source out all of the parts just for your car. You can swap everything you need as you go, since obviously your friend will need the parts off your car as much as you need his.
