Car Scratch

    Car Scratch

    Hey everyone,
    My Niece crashed the side of her bike into my car, and scratched the passenger side door. Doesn't look to bad, but I can't tell if this is just a Clear coat scratch or a Primer scratch, I am pretty sure it is not to the bare metal.

    Here is a picture

    I can get another angle of the scratch tomorrow

    you can def. buff that out.
    Seeing white like that is usually a good sign.
    Scratch-X or any sort of rubbing compound will easily take care of that.

    If the car stays dirty like that, you won't really be able to see it anyways. :)

    the scratch looks fairly deep. rubbing compound could work but be careful if you're not familiar with the methods of how to do it. scratch x 2.0 may work but you may have to buff it out multiple times.

    If you can run your fingernail over it and it doesn't get caught, you can buff it out. I would do it by hand if your not good with the buffer.

    Ya, when I run my finger through it, its doesn't get caught, as its very thin scratch.

    I have a guy that always details my car come out, and he says he can buff it out. So hopefully it will look nice again :D

    The guy does an awesome job detailing :)

    oh BTW..what does seeing white in the scratch mean

    I think the white in the scratch means its still the clear coat. Which means it can be buffed out. Anything deeper means you would need touch up paint.
