    Amp ?, plz help

ok i have 6.5 components up front, the components are 60 watts nominal 4 ohms
6x9s in the rear, 6x9s are 80 watts nominal 4 ohms

will the profile Profile California CA440
be ok for this setup? its 60 watts X 4 RMS @ 4 ohms

so i should amp one channel to each ? 60 watt amp for 60 watt components is ok right? and underpowered rears by 20 watts is ok too right?

ANY advise at all would be amazing, thanx

oh if i get this amp i definitly dont have to worry about power problems right??? for the alt and battery and what not (dimming)...

Keep your amp below the speaker's power rating and you'll be fine as long as you don't turn it up loud enough that you get distortion. The problem is you don't know what your speakers are rated for (RMS). Nominal doesn't mean that much. Which speakers are they?

rears are Pioneer Rev 6X9 TS-D690R

thanx for the help. when do i have to start worrying about power problems in my car?

Nominal is whatever the manufacturer wants it to be. I'd say your pretty safe driving these speakers with 60 watts. You won't have any power problems either. You'll be drawing peaks of 500 watts - at 14 volts that's 35 amps. The alternator's probably good for about 70.

would it make that much of a difference if i used a smaller amp, im thinking of goning a bit smaller now, maybe 35 watts per channel? will that be ok? what will the difference be with a 35 and 60 watt amp?

oh how do i find out the RMS of a speaker?
    thanx so much

You will be good, I would go with the bigger amp, it will sound better. Your lights wont dim running just those speakers. RMS is usually a range, like 10 to 80 watts and max is usually one number like 110watts. So if your amp is running 60 watts RMS then that will be perfect, that way you can keep the gain down and the amp cooler. Furthermore expanding the life of the amp and causing less drain on your battery/alternator.

Go with 60. 35 will work, but I think you'll be disappointed with the clarity. The 60 will draw nearly twice as much current as the 35, but it won't hurt the electrical system. I'm running a 4 by 50 amp and a 200 watt monoblock for the sub with no problems.

Usually the manufacturer lists the RMS rating on their speakers - apparently Pioneer doesn't. They only list maximum music power and nominal on their website. Judging by the price though, they should be able to handle quite a bit.
