Toyota introduces 2005 Matrix TRD Special Edition


Toronto, Ontario - Toyota Canada announced that a specially equipped Matrix TRD Special Edition has been added to the Matrix line-up.

"This Special Edition offers an exceptional level of sporty driving excitement and standard amenities to enthusiastic drivers on a budget," said Tony Wearing, Managing Director of Toyota Canada.

The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of a new Matrix TRD Special Edition will be $20,700 for a model with 5-speed manual transmission, and $21,650 for the same model with 4-speed automatic.

In addition to the standard features found on every Matrix FWD, the TRD Special Edition also includes 200-watt Panasonic AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system, rear spoiler, air conditioning with clean air filter, power door locks, fog lamps, coloured mirrors, door handles and side skirts, TRD exhaust tip, blacked-out side window frames, chrome scuff plates, illuminated entry, unique design 17-inch alloy wheels, rear bumper protector, and TRD decals.

trd exhaust tip? what the hell? And they call that a TRD. Where are the performance parts? no aerodynamic body styling, sporty suspensions supercharger etc... They could have atleast put in a full exhaust. Jeez

it's just another way of toyota trying to rip people off!
i have yet to see one toyota vehicle with an original TRD package that comes with some kind of serious performance upgrade. all the TRD edition i've seen so far are all cosmetic

i love it... people will buy it
