SilverTop + BlackTop

    SilverTop + BlackTop

    just want to know what are teh differences.

    im thinkin the heads, im not sure tho..

    basically the electronics.... they are both rated at ~160hp, but they only make ~150 or so. silvertop uses an AFM and blacktop uses a MAP sensor.

    blacktop makes a little more hp then silver but its not as reliable as the silver top...

    um, there's actually more to it than that.....

    the silvertop is vvt, the blacktop is vvti
    the silvertop has 40mm itb's, the blacktop has 45mm
    the silvertop has a much larger/heavier crank (it's the same as a smallport/late bigport/gze size)... the blacktop got all new/lighter internals... i believe with a smaller crank
    silvertop ecu is AFM based, blacktop is map based
    silvertop came only with 5 speeds, blacktop had 6 speed options

    that's all i can think of off the top of my head.... silvertops don't put out nearly the power that they are rated at, but blacktops are much closer...... most silvertops in the states don't see much more than 120whp unless you start to modify them quite a bit (ie, forced induction).... there are blacktops that with just the swap have been reaching 140+whp
