For those of you that somehow have manage to get this setup going.....how did you do it? Did you guys do the custom work yourselfs or was it done at a shop? Materials that were used?

    Any info is greatly appreciated.

a shop did mines....i was talking to him and if i could some people to want to do this i can get it made for any other people...of course it will be made like mines all molded in TV...there are some things though that need to be sorted if anyone is interested....
    1. they would need to mail over their radio piece
    2. the type of TV used...if you anyone is interested they can pay for the piece molded in and we can provide the TV...if not they would have to send over the radio piece and TV.
3.it would be painted black...painting it all shiny like exterior paint jobs would cost more... they prefer to paint it black because if they do blue or red and its not the type of shade you want they do not want to be responsible for it..
4.it'll take about a 1 1/2 weeks to 2 weeks to make an individual piece

the size of my TV is a 7" and thats as big as they can go they say...any questions email me at xbreaker@aol.com ...ill get pricing later when i find out roughly how many people are interested in doing this...and how many people will do it with their own TVs

it would all depend on what kind of TV you would want to get....touch screen or regular TV with buttons....oh and to let you know the TVs that you get from the store are not LCD but TFT screens.....the difference between the two is that with LCD screens you have to look at the TV from head on to see a picture....with TFT you can look at it from the sides or direct.... let me know which you are interested in... the touch screen or regular and ill get a price out....note that the touch screen wont have the buttons like mine has on top of the screen....it'll just be a screen...oh and if you want the LCD for some wierd reason inside the TFT they can get it also....it would be cheaper then a TFT but LCD just plainly suk compare to TFT...

I also need to get a 7" wide touchscreen. I'm planning on putting a GPS Nav System and I don't want to be all ghetto entering the addresses using dials or remotes. I want to be able to just touch the letters on a screen. Very important to me. Does anyone know if there are already 7" touchscreens out there? Or is it possible to dismantle the screen mechanism from an HU that has a motorized touchscreen? It would be cool to have the headunit installed elsewhere and have the motorized touchscreen detached from the HU and then molded into the dash. Info very much appreciated.

ok your talking about first cabinent right...the job cost me about 250$ to get the cd\dvd player molded in there and then painted.. it take usually a week or a week and half to mold it, primmed, and painted..and thats if they're not busy.. the other thing is that you see that white tape above my headunit...the first strip underneath the controls of the a/c and vents..well when they bondo it there is a bondo line that you cannot smooth out and paint because of the control dials..so they put black tape over it(took off the white and replaced with a thin black one)...just a thin piece to cover it...its not bad..there was the option of smoothing it out..get the whole thing painted...and then get exact stickers of the shapes of the dials place it back on...but then it wouldnt light up because they're just stickers..... its impossible to perfectly cover the dials and paint that big center dash...if your wondering about the second strip above it its nothing...i took it off..dont know why they used it...
