    component speakers?

kinda confused about components. they come usually come with a speaker, tweeter, and cross over?.. does that mean i need to buy two component sets? every picture i see of a component has just one of each.

for a basic set up..would i just get a head unit two components [6.5] [1" tweeter]. rear speakers [6x9] , an amp and a sub?

Mono Amp (For Subs Only:( JBL BP600.1 is a good choice and it's below $200, will give you 600 watts @ 2 ohm.

Do you want single sub or two? There are just too many choice out there. Do you prefer any brand?

Good choice on the MBQ buddy! You won't regret it. :p

Which MBQ are you gonna get? A set usually includes a pair of tweets and woofers. MBQ does underrate their drivers- they can take more than what's advertised. You will also need a 4-channel amp to go with it, since the HU's won't give them enough power to get crisp and clean.

XTM, do you mean 4ch is only for a set of component, right? so each tweeter and mid-bass take 1ch?

    doh confused :p

i'm kinda on a budget so im opting for the mb quart dsd 216 6.5" components. im still kind of confused on the audio stuff.
    ~ 300 blaupunkt headunit.
    ~ 150 mb quart 6.5 component
    ~ 100 6 x 9 rear speakers
    ~ 300 mtx/ diamond audio/ phoenix amp. [4 channel]
    ~ 200 mtx/diamond audio/phoenix amp [2 channel]
    ~ 200 2 jbl subs.

can i run the components and rear speakers into the 4 channel amp.
and the 2 subs up to the amp for the subs?

if not, can you tell me of a more plausible/feasible solution to my setup?
i'd really like to just run off one amp if it was possible.
i'll be needing a battery for sure. anyone have suggestions?
i've only seen/heard good things about optima. batteries.

    Re: doh confused :p

Yes, that's the currect way, and you'll need a 4 gauge power kit and power distribute box which splits one power cable into two powers line, one for each amp.

If you are on a budget,
    DO,
    ~ Blaupunkt headunit.
    ~ Mb quart 6.5 component
    ~ 4 channel amp
    ~ One sub
~ Keep the stock rear 6x9 speakers, powered with headunit.

That way you can spend more on a better pair components, pushing them by 2 front channels from a more powerful 4-ch amp, and bridges the remaining 2 ch to a stronger subwoofer in sealed or ported enclosure. (Infinity Kappa Perfect, Boston Acoustic Pro, Eclipse, Kicker L7, etc.)

I see no reason why you need a new battery? The stock one will do the job just fine.

    doh. :x.

im still a big newbie on car audio. so bear with me :x. i thought i'd need the extra battery if i was running so many things.

if i go with the setup you recommended, but i could afford to get new rear speakers, could i just replace them?

are you saying i could have just one amp.
power the rear speakerse with my head unit. and power the components and subwooder with one amp?
sorry if im just regurgitating what you're saying.

im sure once i get a hold of everything itl'l make a lot morse sense
or maybe not at all ;x.

    Re: doh. :x.

Of course you could just replace the rear speakers. I was just saying that rear speakers are less important compare to front speakers and sub, since you are more likely to sit in the front most of the time, and we want to hear the music mainly coming from the front stage rather than from behind. The bottom line is just don't spend too much on the rear speakers.

And yes, a 4ch amp can power the components (2 speakers) and one subwoofer, and it is the easiest and cheapest setup you could get. Give me your email address so I could send you a diagram showing how the wiring goes.
