    Hmm so Im doing some deciding and was just figuring going high def. Here are my plans and tell me what you think.

    Optoma HD70 HD 720p projector
    Upconverting dvd player
    HD tuner???

    currently we only have basic cable and im assuming i need digital cable to recieve the hd channels. ill have to get a hd tuner then no? i guess we can wait on the hd tuner because its really only a theatre thing, no one will really watch tv on it.

    Yes...youll have to upgrade to the digital package with the HD package as well.

    I'm going to get this projector for my wfe and I as our christmas present.

    A friend of mine purchased one a few days ago and all I can say is Wow! The thing is a comlete light canon! You can watch TV in broad day light no problem with this baby and the color saturation is insane. I think you can find deals on them now around the net for ~1800. The coolest thing is that it has a sensor that will adjust the lumin output and gama based on ambiant detected light so you dont have to switch profiles for lights off and lights on, it will do it automatically. Plus it is one of the most highly rated projectors on Projector Central. If anyone reading this has one of these please post your likes and dislikes about it. Also you can shift the lens a lot so you don't have to rely on digital keystone as much so you can mount this thing anywhere!

    Wow, I just found a few rebates for the AX100U that bring it down to $1700 and give you a ton of free rentals at Blockbuster.
