    Martial Arts?

    Anyone into Martial Arts?

My son and I (and my wife soon) are starting Tae Kwon Do this week. Should be pretty interesting.

I find this site funny though: www.WTF.org, haha funny name for a site, lol
    http://www.wtf.org/site/about_taekwo..._taekwondo.htm

Im interested in Aikido as well, which is less offensive and all defensive, reconverting your opponents energy to benefit yourself.

I took Hopkito for a couple of years when I was young, It was pretty fun and demanding. But now with it being so easy to get a consealed weapons permit I couldn't see the use of going anymore J/K :)

Achieved First Degree Black belt when I was 11 in Tae-Kwon-Do actually. The only reason I never advanced in the next 6 years of doing it (finally had to quit at age 17) was due to the fact we kept moving...instructors kept thinking I was too good, and never advanced me, they got me teaching sub-black belts. So I was basically an instructor for 6 years.

I've participated and learned things in Akido, Basic Okinawan Karate, Ju-Jitsu, Judo and Capoiera (If you don't know, don't ask...please don't ask.)

I like Tae-Kwon-Do the best, due to the fact it's a lot of leg and foot work. When your legs make up 70% of your height, that makes it a great one.

You should enjoy it, it's a hell of a workout.

Naw, not that badass. Badass enough to keep myself in one piece on the street, but no where good enough to step into the ring with those guys.
