if u do reg. riding... the lowering is fine... but if u do canyon runs... or track... lowering the bike isnt recommended... makes a difference in handling...

I had a buddy who was 5'1, he lowered his 99 CBR all the way so he could touch comfortably, and he tore it UP with me in the canyons.

ive seen ppl thats 5 ft tall that didnt lower the bike... i mean... how often are you going to put ur feet down when ur riding your bike? unless your doing daily stop and go traffiic... then thats a different story.

Stop and go traffic, I don't put my feet down unless it's a hard-core stop. ...usually I'd ride the clutch in and out to keep the bike up straight until traffic took off again.

But he and I would commute on our bikes during the week...and canyon ride on the weekend.

    Good deal actually.

on the rr i get about 130-140 miles... then the 1 gal reserve light kicks in...

    the f4i... about 160ish?

    i believe its a 4 gal tank.

600R got on average 200 mpf.

It had a 5 gal. tank, with an integrated reserve. ...so when the light came on at 190...I had .9 gallons left, but I'd always just ride it to the station and fill-up.

    edit:

ok , from what I've heard they are just a rebadged hyosung motorcycle. And I know hyosungs are the most unreliable pieces of scrap around so.. I'd pick a well known brand. made in korea.

regardless I think I like the styling on the suzuki gs500 better than the buell blast 500. think I'd pick that over the other.

Corollasbest is right....the bikes are assembled in the USA, but have Korean parts on them. But anyone that has a SV650, which is a very well known and well like bike, has a Hyosung motorcycle. So I dont think the "dont buy it cuz its Korean" argument holds that much water.
Im still going to stick to getting my Ninja or Honda. Within the month! Ive looked at a few over the last week.

well, I just personally know a guy with a '06 hyosung gt650r who is on his 3rd engine in 20K miles. the last time I talked to him it was in the shop and he planned to sell it immediately after the replacement engine is installed under warranty. hence why I believe the bad rap they're getting.

good luck with getting a bike though. I would do the same if I could.
