I meant check your fuses, for some reason I thought this was in a different forum and you were talking about your house.

you pull open the fuse panel cover to access your fuse box, pull out the old fuse and put in a new one..

on an 01-02 Corolla, to the left of the steering column theres a little box that says storage on it, remove that by just popping it off and the fuses are right behind it, and on the reverse side of that storage box there is a diagram of the fuses, and I am not 100 percent sure but I think that you are looking for the CIG one, and theres replacement fuses under the hood where the other fuse box is. That box is located on the driver side near the fender. theres also a little white tool in there to help you pull the fuses out. Good Luck, Someone correct me if im wrong.

The best thing to do is look at all the fuses. the ones inside the car, and the ones under the hood. But yes the fuses can affect your beams.

not on the 01-02 gens it will not affect the high beams it has to be something else. but check all fuses and if it burns out right a way then there is a short somewhere.

Well the head unit works (but still with the "Failure" written when I start it up [goes away if I change a setting like volume]) and initially all speakers worked.

I have a new problem now. Only the front two speakers work. The two rear speakers aren't producing sound. What should I do? Before I disconnect anything, I should disconnect the battery first, right? I don't want to short anything out again....

Yes, to be on the safe side you can disconnect the battery. What type of head unit is it again? You need to take the Stereo harness out and make sure all the wires are connected. Well first you can make sure that the settings on the Head unit are right and that its not just fading to the front. The last thing it could be is the head unit it self, not sending out signals to the rear speakers. I hope you figure it out. But I think theres some wire problems with the Stereo Harness.

I'll check the wire harness again but I don't think that's it. It's a sony head unit. I hear static whenever i turn the car off and no the sound is not faded to the front.

I finally fixed it. It was the rear right speaker and it was because the wiring (copper wire soldered to the speaker area) was touching bare metal (rear dash metal).

Should have seen my face when I didn't see 'failure' on the head unit. :D

    No more static.

I would check all the speakers again and see whats up, because you know its a wire touching somewhere

I highly doubt it was the headunit because as soon as I unwired the rear right speaker, everything was working well. I unscrewed the mounting bracked and repositioned the speaker and rewired it and everything worked good. Maybe I should put something around the metal rim so that it doesnt touch metal..
