Dude I have hit 60 mph on my bike before and with enough muscle power in the legs you can accelerate pretty quick

Someone post a link of someone in a competition that has reached 60 mph on a bicycle. I used to be big in to mountain biking and the max speed I ever hit was 37mph and a friend of mine that is in prime shape and rides bikes everywhere (doesn't have a car) has only hit 45mph with every bit of energy he had on a straight away). 60 mph sounds a little SciFi :D Now recumbent bikes are a different story, check the link below, but even in competition form engineered to cut though the wind like a razor they are only hitting ~60-70mph

There is no proof hes going 60mph. Hes on a highway and thats we assumed :p. He could be going 30-40 and we couldnt tell the difference because camera was on a chopper.

Hmm...mustve been downhill with the wind on your back on an olympic aerodynamic bike or something...post a video of you biking 60, that would be interesting to see...

Anywayz...this is for everyone who thinks this is real and didnt believe me when I said it was fake, lol...

First of all, that video you posted was really blurry so you cant really see details...but..

    Note the following"
-the "lead cop car" looks different from the other cop cars (obviously CG added)
-the video glitches (added in for effect)
-the acceleration of the bike passing between the two trucks is INCREDIBLY unrealistic, fake, and very very CG...also note how the bike appears to be gliding in the video
-the questionable discussion between the two news reporters
-the fact that he threw a sports bottle at the car and they made a big deal about it (possibly a video used in an ad)
-The guy is on a freakin bike with multiple cops chasing him. Do you seriously think that the chase ended right there with the "lead cop car" getting wedged in...the video made you think it did because the helicopter camera man didnt follow the bike...wonder why...let me explain below...

The two most incriminating pieces of evidence that this video is a fake are the acceleration of the bike and the appearance of the "lead cop car" following the bike...

Now...because I hate being told that im wrong when others dont accept the obvious...I researched this video and found that it indeed is a fake and have the proof to show for it...

Below is a link to the original car chase from a different news cast:
    http://www.metacafe.com/watch/47218/truck_driver_assists_the_police/

As indicated by the link above, the car being chased was CGed into a cop car....thats why it looks so fake. The fake looking bike was added in front of this "lead cop car". Thats why when the "lead cop car" got wedged in between the trucks, the helicopter focused on it instead of the gettaway bike because under that CG masking is the real car being chased.

Now watch it again, this time watching the real video...the one that wasnt blurred intentionally to fool their audience..link provided below

So once again....if you want to believe that this is still real and the bike is real and the lead cop car is real and this is not CG...then go ahead and believe this one too

This video was in fact used as an advertisement for the Tour de France (note: throwing the water bottle)
