I think I missed out on an awesome deal...

..but it's probably for the best. Found an '01 S with a blown motor for 500 bucks...already a pending deal, though. Ah well.

At least dropping a new motor in and selling it for $5-6k..would've been a fairly easy profit if all it needed was an engine. Then again, I'd probably start thinking..TRD S/C..custom hood..etc..you know how that works.. :p

I remember seeing an 01 black corolla S that had a smashed trunk lid and rear bumper. Easy fix. Only had like 35k miles on it. Went for $1k. :(

He was working on a deal with someone and said he'd let me know if it fell through. I think that'd be worth driving to FL and towing back to NH..

yeah it would...if you were to get it would you just drop a new engine in there?

That would depend on what 'blown motor' turns out to be. Blown head gasket..nope. Cracked block..melted pistons..broken rod..yeah, just drop a new engine in. Although I'd be quite tempted to try squeezing a V6 in, since I wouldn't be in any hurry..though I'd really need my own garage first - can't use up my uncle's barn for a year. :p

Turns out there's one other guy before me..he's going to look at it this weekend. If he doesn't buy it, I think I'll have to.

    2001 Corolla S
    125-127k
    4sp auto (bleh)
    Rod through block/oil pan
Stock S alloys with good tires
    Working AC
    Needs one fender painted
    $500.00

I can get an engine in Orlando for about $1k -- maybe pay a shop whatever to install it ($500? I have no idea)...then just fly down and drive it back..

If it happens, it happens..if not, oh well..someone gets a really good deal.

you hit your head or something? lol

good luck with that... most badass deal if you land it. however, during the motor swap, the AC won't work anymore until charged. lol

Good point. If it works out, I'll have to fit that in the budget.
