Latest Addition to my Tundra: PREDATOR BUMPER GUARD!

I've had that damn thing for over a year, and every single previous time I've had it "scheduled" to put it on something came up. Now, since I'm out of work right now due to health reasons, I've recently been well enough to put it on. FINALLY!

Do I see snow there? Either way it looks really nice. I cant say that it matches with the grille well. Grill looks more P.I.M.P. and guard looks more off road trucker style.

We get snow out here, once in awhile, but NEVER quite like that. It likely was bad lighting from the camera used, and I didn't do any retouching of the image.

As for the grille, I'm reconsidering putting on my stock grille, but I HATE it. The 2003 Tundra stock grille looks, to me, boring. If I could do something to it to "spice" it up, I'd be happy.

I've been in AZ for awhile now. I alway thought those grill /bumper guards were called cattle bars. Looks like a good way to protect your tundra :D

vortex, i'm jealous of those shots.

and, that bumper bar is fucking awesome, looks real aggressive on your car. fits the "debadged" grill real nicely too. good work!

My unofficial motto is now "why outrun what you can run over?" I almost put that to the test today with a crazy drunk woman in a Sebring convertible. She first ran a stop sign in my neighborhood almost t-boning me, then, as I poked out around a corner she tried to blast by me and get in front of me hoping I'd hit her.

    :)

It was something different, but I like having an aggressive look. Eventually, I may had some "muscle" to back it up in the form of engine modifications. And, no, I won't be adding a supercharger. What is the point when my truck's top speed is a paltry 106MPH?

Hopefully within 3 years, I'll have the funds together, to pull the 4.7 out of mine, replace it with the 5.7L, the 5 spd tranny and the 10.5" rear end out of the new Tundra.

...9 lbs of boost to that oughtta put me easily up over 500 lbs of torque. :D

I like the guard, personally I'm looking into the Westin Ultimate Bull Bar. Solid, commands authority, has room to mount a pair of 6" lights (for possible night-time off-roading) and it still mounts to the tow hooks, which means it's still a brick-sh!t house.

    Looking sharp man!

I thought of a Westin bull bar, but aesthetically it doesn't work well with the Tundra. Performance Products has a decent selection of different light bars and grille guards. I like my new Predator bumper guard because it offers protection down low, versus the higher grille guards. If (when) I learn welding, I may try to make my own custom guard using the Predator's mounting brackets.

When you learn welding, do away with the stock bumper altogether and build yourself a solid tube bumper with a winch mount. :D

    A Northstar V8 can be squeezed into a Mk1 MR2...there's got to be a way to fit a 5.7l in a Tundra.

won't be as hard as you think... there is no difference in the actual size of a block between a 4.x and a 5.x litre engine. they are still all relatively the same except for the bore/stroke. i've had a chance to investigate the block used by the current configuration and it amazes me how similar they are in design to the chevy blocks. its like toyota took the idea and made it better (isn't that what they always do?) i'm willing to bet most everything should bolt right up with little to no modification, of course only measurements and such will finalize this theory. its really no different than my upgrade from a carb'd 327 in my 69 z28 to a current LS1 motor & tranny. just minor mods to get it all in place.

Guess I haven't been paying attention, I thought the new Tundra only had a 5 speed. Good to know. :)
