    Net Activity Sidebar Gadget!

I just finished writing my first Sidebar gadget for Windows Vista Sidebar. If you have Windows Vista and want to try it out just go to this URL, download and double click. Be sure that you stop and restart sidebar.exe as elevated though since this net activity gadget needs to pull WMI perf data which won't work unless its host process (Sidebar.exe) is running elevated. I hope you enjoy it!

    1) Stop Sidebar
    2) Open Start Menu
    3) In the search box type sidebar
    4) Right click sidebar when it comes up and select "Run as administrator"
    5) Load Gadget

It should work... I use it on every machine I own.

Oh yeah. I hate the run as admin deal that HAS to be chosen with the LUA thing now. "Are you SURE you want to do this?"

You can disable it in RC1 :) Just open Control Panel and search for UAC (user access control) and then click it and uncheck the box and reboot, now your back to the 'Whatever you want' model of XP :D

Hahaha, my bad. I should have stated I was running it on RC1 :D So now that it works what do you think? Is it a gadget you would actually find useful having laying around on your desktop?

Sweet. I'm going to work on another gadget next week. Maybe one that shows incomming and outgoing connections and you can set a little flashing alarm if they are exceeded or something crazy happens :)
