Skyline R33 GTR or R34 GTR?

Well I'm having to stay here in the philippines to finish college and leave everything behind in the states. The bargain for me staying here though is I can get what car I can get. I'm waiting for the car sales place to find a R33 or R34 gtr or gtr-vspec for me to get. I'm wondering which one you guys think is nicer from the two cause I like both of them and having a hard decision choosing. Also I'm gonna bring it to the states so which is gonna be easier to ship. The car is gonna be converted left hand drive already cause it has to be right hand drive in the philippines. I have to wait a month or less after the order from Japan. But if I can't wait I can get a R32 GTR now.

I personally prefer the R32 GT-R over the R33 or R34, but if going for something newer, definitely the R34 (love the front end look).

based on my experience watching initial D :D... the R32 was good, R33 was just a heavier carryover and had no real improvements, R34 was the version to finally beat the R32

From what I've been told it is impossible to make a Skyline left hand drive due to manifold/ turbo placement.

Ok, I've seen this letter several times and everytime whoever posts it doesn't seem to get the gist of it.

The above letter does NOT say that you may not import a Skyline. Had you bothered to read the last paragraph of the letter you would have seen the following:

Now look two paragraphs up. Not all Skylines WERE illegal to import. At first they were, however due to the fact it was felt the "...import eligibility to 1990-1999 Nissan Skyline vehicles was overly broad. As a consequence the agency decided to rescind that decision in part, so that only R33 Model Skyline vehicles manufactured between January 1, 1996 and June 30th 1998 remain eligible for importation.

    Re-read the whole letter now.
A guy makes every attempt to legalize a skyline in order to bring it into the country. Can't do it. ...writes the importation agency a letter requesting why the subject vehicle is still illegal. They see that he went through all this trouble and still couldn't get his car in...so they rescinded (to revoke or repeal) it for his special case and upon proving all the required measures were taking to legalize the car, it was allowed in.

But that isnt a 100% guarentee that they will approve it. You still run the risk of having to take it back.

Yea, i kno, ive already discussed the letter with him b4...i was using it to show that certain years of R33s are legal and R34s are just not legal..of course with just bout any other agency, if you struggle to become in compliance and continue to badger them with multiple letters, they can't ignore you forever..

well there's an R32 ready to buy. I'll show you guys pics. yes here they can convert it. I'm thinking of just ordering the R33 so I can get it to the U.S with less trouble compared to r34. Right now I'm having alot of thinking cause I'm gonna stay here a few years and want to be drifting in the mountain here in cebu. The run car last up to 30 minutes of drifting if you want. So I'm thinking of getting a sylvia or evo or sti first cause the skyline is hard to get parts here also. Its a long waiting period. Ya sadly I'm done with the corolla. After seeing so many corolla taxis, lol I don't have the same feeling for my car anymore.

Just get a 240sx or something and do a skyline conversion. I've seen a few around here that look pretty badass.

yeah... R34s are illegal here. You can bring it back and stare at it forever, but it will never legally see a road. The R33 is OK, but is the redheaded stepchild of the GTR line-up. R32 is the best overall IMO and will probably cos tyou the least also. I hope you have some hella money saved up and a gigantic bottle of asprin if you plan on bringing one back.

Just become a millionaire then you can drive whatever you want on the road and just pay the tickets when the cops get you. And when they take your license for too many tickets just keep driving and then pay the driving without a license tickets :D The state will get rich off you but you can still do whatever you want. It pays to be rich :D I went to court for a speeding ticket a few months back and there was a guy there with a ticket for driving with a suspended license. This was his 6th offense for driving without a license and he told the judge he can't afford to pay the ticket and he can't afford not to drive so he's stumped. The judge replied, if you drive again without a license you'll just get another ticket and he smiled and said 'I know, I know' and then he left, probably drove home too :D
