well the 2nd questions has very poor wording. You dont exactly "overtake" someone if your going behind them. it would be them "overtaking" you.

+1 =____= im sure that does not make me smart... =___=

If you are racing in an oval or closed track, then the person in first place can pass the person in last place and still be in first place.....my answer to that question was in first place.

Actually, you just stated the exact same thing.

If you are behind someone, you can't overtake them.

If someone else is behind you, they are overtaking, or they overtake you.

So the use of the word, "You overtake the person in second place," is correct.
