I thought the XRS line was discontinued which would mean no more Matrix XRS either. Wouldnt make sense to kill one and keep the other seeing as they both use the same engines.

c'mon who didn't expect that? The XRS has always been a dumping hole for unused 2ZZ left at the factory.

I hope they're clearing the plate for a performance version of the next Corolla too. I'm not going to be able to afford the new Supra for a while, so they need SOMETHING inexpensive and fast....

I hear that. I'm actually planning on going with a Lotus Exige or the Tesla Electric Car in the next 3 - 4 years. If I go lotus I will still be able to hang out as a legit VVT-i member since my car will have a 2ZZ-GE engine :D

I'm not surprised. Something amazing better happen as far as performance car representation in the Toyota lineup in the next couple years or my next car will be anything but Toyota.

everyone is looking for cheap horsepower. dodge started it with the srt and now other manufacturers are doing the same thing because people are starting to want the 200 horsepower under 20-21k. Toyota really has nothing that is in that range other then the supercharged tC, but the supercharger can't be (at least most dealerships can't) rolled into the loan. Toyota needs to try and get into that market and/or also look at something that is awd. When I was looking for a car that was awd, toyota only has the matrix and it only comes in auto also. I have also been hearing that there will be good things coming out from scion. Maybe the performance line will end up as a scion based car.
