    TRD Front Strut Bar

I just bought these for $149 shipped.

Just jack the center line, unbolt, place strut bar, bolt and unjack right?

No 'torque-ing at a certain psi' right?

You dont necessarily have to jack it up. Some people jack it just up a tiny bit with the wheels still on the ground just to relieve tension on the front end. This would make it stiffer. The bolts are torqued right now I believe. I am not sure what the torque specs are. Would be great if someone told me because I gotta put mine on too. Been sittin under my bed for over a month now.

just take off the 3 nuts on the strut tower of each side and put the bar on. and torque the nuts down to 34 ft.lb

it's to relieve tension from the frame and to pre-compress the bar for a stiffer ride.

not really... this isn't a case of the either or.

psi ratings are used for pressure specifications. (air and liquid typically as was stated previously)

ft-lbs and in-lbs are used for torque specifications.

they are indeed two different items. :)

imo.. it make sense to jack it up alittle and it install it cuz when u jack it up all the force is not on the strut tower its on all other stuff and the strut tower is actually pull away from each other (which u can't see) so when u install it and put it back on the ground it makes it alittle more tighter then normal

you dont want to raise the car completely off the ground tho, or raise it too high so the strut falls out. its a bitch to get it back in alone. i had to do it in the middle of the night all by myself it was a royal pain

^^Nope. Just a tiny bit. If you lift it completely, you'll end up with more problems then what you'd want.

No need to jack the car up. It's a waste of time.

i installed my strut bar already and didnt have to jack up the car. i actually had a few friends just pull on the passenger side of the car to be able to line up the screw holes of the strut bar to the strut tower screws.

don't jack it up... makes it harder to get the nuts on and off... plus when you put it back down, your nuts won't be at the correct torque spec. just leave it on the ground, torque to 34, retorque 1 week later and be done with it.
