    Dual fuel?

has anybody thought of getting a dual fuel kit installed on their rolla? I was looking at the possiblity of this today and it looks somewhat good.

An install usually runs $2,500 bucks and you loose 5% power and 15% mpg on propane but it costs a lot less. Propane is $2/gallon right now, where-as gas is $3/gallon.

anybody else considered such an idea??

I know that they do this in India because my cousins rolla has that setup. No one can afford gas in india so they hook up propane tanks lol. Ive never seen anyone with a setup here and I dont think it would make a difference. Your loosing mileage and paying less, comes out to almost the same. Just my opinion.

what would be a better alternative would be a conversion to the e-85 gasoline... it costs a couple bucks a gallon and you typically don't lose any mpg and very little power loss

E85 sounds good but there are only like 800 stations nationwide that offer it. Until it becomes more widely used, Id say no to that as well. I have yet to see a gas station that sells E85.

Where do you get e-85 gasoline? Also can you run a Turbo on a propane powered car :) That might be fun.

What they need to do is develope a device that hooks in to your septic tank and extracts all the methane gas :) Then you could just fuel your car from the burito aftermath! :D

E85 is 85% ethanol. Those are mainly found in the midwest. Our gas is either E10 or E15.

Also, Ethanol, while cheaper, doesn't burn as efficiently as gasoline. I believe its something like you'll get 70% of the mileage you did with an equal amount of gasoline. So in reality its good, but not the godsend some think it is.

Im in the midwest, Im not seeing any E85. Maybe is because Im too close to the city? I seriously havent seen any station that sells E85 which is quite sad seeing as there are soo many damn corn fields in Illinois.

I had actually heard from a friend of mines that with the E10 and E15 gases, your seals tend to degrade faster and you lose a little bit of mileage... anyone notice anything?

I hate ethanol too, arco uses the crap (BP) and it evaporates from your tank within a few days, so you buy a full tank, and 3 days later you'd have 7/8 tank without driving any where
