    insurance rates

Hey, how much do you guys pay for insurance? This question is mainly targetted to people with a significant amount of mods and have full coverate insurance plans.
im kind of scared how much higher my rates will go up after i tell them that its modded...

Well it depends on your insurance policy. But as far as I know, your insurance rates DON'T go up based upon modifications. If you do get in an accident though and screw up some after-market stuff, they'll ask for a receipt from the purchase before they even consider replacing your aftermarket with another one.

I know on my Progressive motorcycle policy, they gave me I think $3,000 coverage on aftermarket parts for free.

My best suggestions, keep all receipts...and don't tell them anything. :p

I have the same deal onmy car... only its like 5K and like 20 bucks more a month, some deal my dad got when he set up the policy, knew I wanted to do stuff to my car, but as far as I know they won't rase your rates too much based on mods untill they have to actually pay out for them. but yeah, its best not to tell them... as far as my insurance knows I'm still stock... :)

I remember when I was shopping for a new car after the Grand Prix, I was looking at a Mark 4 Supra...I asked the Allstate how much my rates would go up if I modded it...

...the lady told me nothing, but on the other hand...Allstate is a bunch of idiots.

i could be wrong but i think the only mod that would change your insurace rate was if you decided to get a turbo put on.

eh oh well, at least I'm getting no tickets so it'll have to lower sooner or later. What pisses me off is that my cousin has been in 3 wrecks and has 4 speeding tickets on her 04 Jetta and she is still paying less than I am

u have to get the cars picture taken? I never had to do that with Geico..lol. Unless its cause of the aftermarket parts.

I have the tC and the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe and I pay 750.00 every 6 months. Thats will full coverage on each car. None are modded, however, Geico does send me a notice to fill out with aftermarket parts and how much they cost. Word of advice. definately keep your reciepts!!!

When my rolla was stolen back in 2001, they found it and it was stripped. The only way I'd get paid for all the aftermarket parts I had, was to provide a reciept for everything I had. It took me a while to find all of them but I found them and got paid...I even got paid for my neons I had inside..lol.

I pay like $230 to insure the following list of vehicals each with 2 drivers, full coverage and $100 glass deductible and $500 everything else deductible. I hate Allstate, I'm thinking of switching to state farm but its a pain in the ass since I have to also change my home owners insurance to get the combined discount.

Car insurance policy...150 a month, 100% full coverage on both cars, 100 deductible on comprehensive and collision, 40 per day for rental on a 2002 1.8T Passat and 2006 Trailblazer LS. (150 a month, 9 months outta the year, not 12...and I just pay the entire premium up front so I dont have to worry bout it )

Life insurance policies....750k each on me and my wife, paying 40 bucks a month. Life insurance policy on my son, 14 bucks a months.

Home insurance policy is about 650 a year to cover 675k house, through the same company as my auto insurance, with an additional million dollar umbrella policy costing 175 a year.
