ok, first off --- don't judge him. you don't live in colorado and don't understand how the weather works here.... You're talking about a place where it can be 80 degrees one morning and at 2pm the temp drops from 80 to 33 and you've got a foot of snow on the ground and then just like that, the temp is up to 70 and the snow is melting off as the sun comes back out.

The same type of oddball stuff happens with thunderstorms. You never know if you're actually going to get one. You can see thunderstorms on the horizon that may *NEVER* come your way. I've personally witnessed cloud buildup around my house about 10 times over the last two weeks and its only ever rained a single drop or more twice. 99% of people here will see a storm and continue with their activities because there is a 90% chance it'll *NEVER* come your way. With that said... when they do shift your way it happens QUICK and most often the outside edges (before the storm even hits you) is the most dangerous because you never seem them coming. I've personally mowed my lawn while watching a storm roll in that never even hit many, many times. If i bailed into my house everytime i saw a storm cloud, my lawn would NEVER get mowed.

ask anyone here from colorado, they'll tell you the same thing.

(sorry if the tone seemed a bit over-defensive, i feel like total crap today and don't feel like re-reading and changing the tone, lol)

oh trust me... i used to laugh at the phrase: "if you don't like the weather in colorado, wait 5 minutes" because it used to make me think of these wild weather patterns. within the first 3 months my exact words were "holy crap, this place really does have screwey weather!"

that snowstorm was in may or june by the way. i'm sure denverolla or deebstundra would remember a closer approximation of date than I do as I believe they were doing something worth filing into memory when that occured. lol

:D that phrase is pretty funny.

Same thing can be said for Hawaii - you could be standing about 100 feet from someone, on your end - bright and sunny, on the other person - cloudy and raining. Wait a few minutes and situation could change to rain or sun for both. When I was out there for a month - the weather just drove me nuts, being on the water wasn't much better.

But I completely agree with the funky CO weather - I was just out there recently on experiment, for aerial research - the weather *sucks*. Could be crystal clear when you taxi onto the runway and be $hit when your climbing through to a few thousand feet.

Cmon people...its the same thing anywhere. A thunderstorm is coming your way, you see it coming your way (like the kid saw).....but it doesnt have to be right over you, pouring down on you to get hit by lightning.

The Ipod acting as an "antenna" is bullshit. If ya want to get into the wacky, far fetched shit, the Ipod may have saved his life, by taking the current through his headphones into his hip instead of going through his upper chest and his heart.

"He should not have lived through it".......well, people get hit by lightning all the time and live.

They said that the storm specialists didnt think of it as an antenna. And I can see your point that it saved his life. I know some people who put their headphones through their shirts. I gues I wont be doing that lol.

glad to see he's alright: Best line of the article: From the hospital, Bunch called a friend and told him he wasn't able to go bowling. Then, he called a girl he was supposed to meet for a date.

"I said, 'I did not stand you up. I was struck by lightning."'
