    Busted Tokico

I recently Installed a set of Tokico Blues with Eibach pro springs.....Turns out that the front Driver side strut is already busted seems like it might have been from factory since I havent had any problems with pot holes or anything yet. Since they offer a lifetime warranty does anyone know how i could go about returning one. I bought them off of ebay and the seller is no longer listed. Since I drive the car everyday simply removing the strut and sending it to them is not an option. God only knows how long they can take to sent it back.....any one have any ideas.

hummm you could call them and see... just be sure not to say you bought it off of ebay.. some companies don't like to represent their warranty if you bought it off of a non certified reseller

With Tokico, I believe that only way to get a new one is to send in your busted strut to them, they inspect it to see if its a defect that cause or abuse of the strut, if its a defect they send you back a new one, if its abuse they send you back your damaged one...

If you still have a stock strut laying around (even though it might be in bad shape from use, mine were pretty much useless) you could throw that in place of the blown strut while you send the busted one to Tokico; strictly a temporary solution, though.

^^ I was just about to say that lol. That would be your only option if you have your stock struts. If not then I guess your stuck bro. If you want to go cheap, go to junk yard and get one off for temporary.

I had the same thing happen to me. I bought a new tokico strut from NOPI and had it installed. A couple months later I took the busted strut back to NOPI. I thought they would just give me a refund of the price I paid, but instead they just gave me a new strut for free and sent the old one to Tokico. I just sold the free one on Ebay to make my money back.

There might be an easier way to do it, but I didn't know that at the time.

Which free one? So tokico sent you another new strut, in addition to the one Nopi gave you?

Sorry if I'm a little unclear, but it's a complicated story. I actually went to the NOPI headquarters store in Atlanta, so it was an on the spot exchange. The only reason they took the busted one and gave me a new one is because I bought an identical strut from them to replace the busted strut (they didn't know the busted one came from eBay and not them). Basically, where ever you bought your struts from should be able to handle the warranty exchange, but I would recommend buying a new strut first, because in some cases, the damage to your busted strut may not be covered under warranty.

There was only 1 free one, which came from NOPI. As far as I know, where ever you buy the strut from can give you a replacement and then seek reimbursement from Tokico.

You can deal with Tokico directly, but you have to send them your busted strut before they give you the replacemnt. That means you either have to buy a new strut first, or just be be SOL while they mail you a strut back.

Purchased Strut from Nopi to replace the busted one.
He took the busted one back to Nopi for a refund but they gave him a new one instead.

I wouldn't say it was "free" though..lol. You did pay for the busted strut at one point. and by them giving you a new one and then you selling it, u pretty much just broke even.
