    Explosion near my house!

So I dunno if this has reached the national news yet, but im sure you guys will hear about it eventually. About a mile away from my house, one of the oil tankers at the Glenpool Oil Storage Farm was struck by lightning at about 9am this morning causing it to blow its top and explode. The tank was completely full to the top with gasoline. It has not been determined yet whether the gas in that tanker was for local use or to be shipped out for other places to use it. (they said that if its for local use, it could raise local gas prices since there was about 150,000 gallons of gas in there). There have been reports of soot on peoples lawn furniture and cars. Its still burning as we speak. I drove over to this place that gets me as close as I can possible get to it....half a mile away from the fire...I could feel the heat from the flames (which were reported to reach as high as 100 feet at times but from what I could see, I would say that it got MUCH MUCH higher than that...you can see the flames from many miles away). The thing is, this isnt the first time that this has happened. Back in April 2003, another one of these tankers exploded burning all 80,000 gallons of petroleum inside it.

They shutdown some streets and parts of other streets and highways. The American Red Cross Disaster Relief people are standing by at out school.

They pumped out a large portion of the gas inside the tank. They are trying to let it burn down to a more approachable level then they're suppose to put it out with foam.

Anyways, this would probably be an unintersting post without any proof and plus, I had absolutely nothing to do after school today....so....i decided to make a video of it, lol. Now bear with me cuz ive never made a video before, nor have I ever used this movie-making program until now. I apologize for the stupid effects but there wasnt an option to make a movie without the effects. This video is about 4 minutes long. Enjoy...

    Check it out!!>>>

150,000 gallons probably won't effect gase prices too much since its only about a half million dollars worth of fuel :) But damn, that is insane!

Yea, it wont effect it if its being shipped out of the local area...but the stuff that gets shipped in there, some of it gets used locally and they said that if that were the case, then it would effect our gas prices even if only for a short while....
