Corolla is back up and running again!!!!

Well after working on the car all day today myself the rolla is finally on the rode again. Sad thing is that its not the same powerfull car it used to be. There's still a slight knock at really high RPMs and less power. I think there's a couple of valves that need some resealing cause of the loss power. I'm not sure on what to do with it anymore cause I'm moving to a new place so all my money is gonna be on moving out. I'll get pics of the burned bearings later and of the car.

    Thats good to hear! (read)

I don't necessarily think the valves are your area of concern. Did you replace the connecting rods? Often times when rod bearings go bad, the rod will "oval" itself. Also, did the main bearings go bad too? The crank might be scored.

Thats good its running though. As long as it gets you around at this point.

Ok well I guess it was too good to be true. The crankshaft broke today so there was more damage then we thought. The motor is gone so time to swap for something new.

I had a bad feeling something like that might happen. Take pics of it!

We had a Saab snap a camshaft once.

Well it wasn't really that fast. Come on now its a N/A 7afe. It was running around 16.4 cause my friend's 93 integra ran that and I'm always side by side with him when we ran all the way to 130. So it did run low 16's, but now I can run faster then my car at the moment. I'm in the hunt for a 20v now cause I was planning on selling the car while it was running and use it for an integra or celica gts, but now I need to put a motor on the thing. So might as well drop in the motor I want and just keep the thing cause it doesn't want to leave me aparently.

Our cars are a decent base IMO. I raced a guy in what I believe was an LS Integra (the squared off gen) with at least I/E and I was able to keep up with him pretty well. Once we got above 75mph he started to pull on me though.

This weekend I ran against two Civic hatches, both of which sounded like they had some serious work. They were definitely faster then the integra, but they didn't blow me away either.

Sorry to jack the thread, but IMO, considering I only have an intake and exhaust, that's not bad for a 4afe. I agree that these engines need to be turboed or swapped out to see some real power though.
