HELP!!...accident damage

Ok so last night I rear ended somebody. It was a '01 Pontiac Grand Prix. I guess I should have mentioned that I was driving a '98 Prizm. Anyway, I was rolling at about 30 mph when this dumb ass lady stops abruptly at a yellow light, I was following too close and I smashed into her. Well, my car took all the damage to the front right side: my bumper is toast, my stock plastic grill caved in, my headlight and light housing is completely caved in (good news is, the electrical connection is still there, the power line is still plugged into the back of the light), my fender is fucked, my hood curled up on the right side, my radiator is shot/it leaked, my fan runs but is also probably fucked.

So now I am wondering, how much will this all cost? All I have is liability insurance, so I have to pay for the damages out-of-pocket. I took my car to a body shop where my girlfriend has had her corrola worked on before. The guy told me that since I am paying out-of-pocket he "would keep it low, we can help you out," whatever that means. He also said that he'd get aftermarket parts and not OEM, which doesn't matter to me.

So, my main question for the community is, how much do you all think this will cost? If anyone has had an accident like this before, or knows anything in regards to how much this will cost, PLEASE let me know.

Sorry to hear about the accident . Luckily - the damage is in the front (most of the damaged panels can be unbolted instead of cut out). Hood, fender, fender liner, bumper cover, bumper reinforcement, bumper supports, grille, head lamp assemblies, radiator, radiator support, and probably a few more - can be sourced from a salvage yard pretty cheap. Probably less than $1K. I'm not sure what the hook up is on labor and paint - but those are the most costly items of this type of repair. I had a grapefruit sized dent in a bumper corner (damage was only to soft bumper - no metal work. Bumper cover cost $70 to unbolt and replace, labor (paint prep, paint, R&R) was $700. Not being able to see the damage myself - I'd say your looking at atleast $2000-$2500 for parts and labor easy.

Yeah, Jer's right, pics would really help...but a 30mph collision...probably screwed everything up pretty bad.

The hole I tore in the driver's side fender of my Firebird, which I thought just damaged the front...also ended up damaging alot of of the front end hard-ware as well.

I'd agree more with Eric...from the way it sounds, you're probably looking at $3500-$4500.

Your accident sounds like mine, Mine came to almost 6,000 i wanna say. Luckily i had full coverage. Hopefully yours isnt as much.

OMG! That is insane, I don't think I've ever seen an accident quite like yours, looks like your car was peeled like a peice of fruit.

I see an intercooler in the front I didn't know you were boosted. Nice to see another 01 out there going PSSSSST

I got into an accident where my front end was hurt pretty bad. Toyota wanted 2500 to fix it, two other body shops wanted about 1500. Being that I didn't have full cover insurance either, i wasn't about to spend that much money. I stripped out all the parts that were bad, ordered new aftermarket ones (driver side fender, hood, bumper cover, driver side headlight, and clear corners). It ended up costing me a little over 650. I drove around with a black primered front for a while but it wasn't too bad. Paint cost me another 250 when i finally had the money for it. I didn't have any frame damage though, all cosmetic, radiator support was good, so that might make a difference in your case.

Not quite yet, I just got out of the army and the whole accident thing put me back. The turbo is installed along with my emanage and profec e-01 I just need to get me another job so i can finish my project. I still need to get my bov installed, fuel pump and buy me some bigger injectors.

Awesome, the IC looks nice with the pipes positioned like they are. Also don't worry about going bigger on injectors unless you want to go over 10 PSI. I installed 550's when I first did my turbo thinking that I needed them and it turns out they were just harder to tune with and had a really ruff idle. I put the stock ones back in and there duity cycle never goes above 65, I think the stock injectors for the 01 corolla are 250cc.

How did you do that with only $30? You slept with the bodyshop guys?

its still not done, i wanna get a new fender, and im waitin till after my birthday, if i get enough money a new car will be in my future...

i have a body shop at my school, and i could get them to do it, but me and my teacher pulled it all out and straightened it, and i did all the bondo work
